Hanoi, 2 April, 2019 – Effective from 1^st April 2019, Mr. Takayuki Kano has been appointed General Director of NEC Vietnam.

Since joining NEC Corporation in 1987, Mr. Kano has amassed over 30 years of international sales and management experience in Asia’s ICT industry. This includes his appointment as the Deputy Managing Director of NEC India (2008 to 2011) and President Director of NEC Indonesia (2013 to 2016).

Mr. Kano, who assumed his role as President of NEC Corporation (Thailand) in 2016, will continue his current duties while concurrently overseeing NEC Vietnam’s operations.  

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Kano said, “I’m honored to take on this new role and continue driving NEC’s growth and transformation in Vietnam. With Vietnam making a huge push towards modernization and digitalization, NEC’s comprehensive suite of cutting-edge ICT solutions are well placed to help Vietnam achieve its goals in the coming years.”

Mr. Kano replaces Mr. Kiichi Tamida, who has led NEC Vietnam since 2017. Mr. Tamida will be moving back to NEC Corporation in Japan to assume a new role.
